The Vivo Y500 5G arrived in China back in September of last year. Its 4G counterpart has now reached select markets worldwide. This version carries a modestly smaller battery than the 8200mAh cell found in the 5G model and adopts a rectangular rear camera module rather than the circular layout of its sibling.

The entry level configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage carries a starting price of PKR 99999, equal to roughly Rs. 34000. The upgraded edition offering 256GB of storage is listed at PKR 109999, or about Rs. 38000.

The dual SIM smartphone ships with OriginOS 6 built on Android 16. Its 6.83 inch 1.5K AMOLED panel delivers up to 120Hz refresh rate, 5000 nits peak brightness, 449 ppi density, Q10 plus luminescent material and complete DCI P3 coverage. The device also holds an IP69 rating for dust and water protection.

Inside sits a 6nm Unisoc T7300 octa core chipset with six efficiency cores at 2.0GHz and two performance cores reaching 2.2GHz. It pairs with 8GB of LPDDR4x memory and as much as 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, supported by a vapour chamber cooling system spanning 4300 square millimetres.

Photography duties fall to a dual rear array led by a 50 megapixel main camera at f 1.8 alongside a 2 megapixel macro sensor at f 2.4 and an LED flash. A 32 megapixel front camera with f 2.0 aperture handles selfies and video calls.

Power comes from an 8100mAh battery that accepts 44W wired fast charging. Connectivity covers 4G LTE, dual band Wi Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type C, and satellite positioning systems including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e compass, proximity sensor, gyroscope and an in display fingerprint reader. The phone measures 163.73 by 76.18 by 8.19 millimetres and weighs 210 grams.
